Michel Nischan, chef, author and one of the most important Food Equity Advocates of our time, discusses the issues around scaling innovative ideas when dealing with public health issues. He believes the pathway lies in public private partnerships that go well beyond what the philanthropic community often discusses and changing public policy through education. Michel states, “We have to get our public school system engaged in how we distribute information so we can raise awareness. So people can come together and say this isn’t good for America.”
Michel Nischan is a four-time James Beard Award winning chef with over 30 years of leadership advocating for a more healthful, sustainable food system. He is Founder and CEO of Wholesome Wave, Co-Founder of the James Beard Foundation’s Chefs Action Network, as well as Founder and Partner with the late actor Paul Newman of the former Dressing Room Restaurant.
